About Brandon Gasaway

Brandon Gasaway (b. 2001) is an American composer who writes various works from full orchestra symphonies to solo and chamber works. Originally from Marietta, Georgia, he graduated from Kennesaw State University (KSU) with a B.M. in Music Composition, where he studied under Dr. Laurence Sherr. He has been playing the violin since 2012 and aspires to write educational pieces aimed at being performed by middle and high school orchestras, bands, and choirs around the United States. In February 2021, his symphonic orchestra work, Fairy Tale Overture, won first place in the 2020-21 KSU School of Music Composition Contest, which was then debuted on March 22nd, 2022. Brandon attended the Sewanee Summer Music Festival in the summer of 2022 and had multiple works featured while he was there. He was also named the Kennesaw State University Bailey School of Music 2024 Presser Scholar Award Recipient. He now lives in Colorado Springs, Colorado, serving as the librarian for the Chamber Orchestra of the Springs and pursuing a career in the field of music teaching.
